Car Rental Insurance in Qatar: Excess and Protection Explained
Every Infinity rental includes insurance. The key word to understand is excess: the amount you pay towards covered damage before insurance covers the rest. Our protection packages are a damage waiver offered by Infinity Rent a Car: they limit the amount you pay for covered damage to the car, and you can reduce it or remove it completely.
Your options
- Basic (included in every rental): excess of QAR 1,000 / 1,500 / 2,500 for small / medium / large cars.
- Standard protection: lowers your excess to QAR 500, 750 or 1,250 depending on the car size.
- Full protection: zero excess on covered damage, and it also covers tyres, windscreen and glass.

Which one should you choose?
- Short trip, careful driver: basic cover may be enough.
- First time driving in Qatar, or busy city driving: Standard protection gives peace of mind at a small daily cost.
- Families, long rentals or premium cars: Full protection means no surprise costs for covered damage.
What protection does not cover
- Traffic fines, fuel and extra kilometres. These are covered by the security deposit, which is the same for every package: QAR 1,000 small, 1,500 medium, 2,500 large, by any payment method including cash.
- Damage from desert, off-road or unpaved-road driving.
- Driving under the influence, or a driver not registered on the rental agreement.
- Gross negligence, deliberate damage or prohibited use.
- Damage to the interior, and lost or damaged keys or remote.
- Failure to report an accident or to obtain the required police report.
Driving outside Qatar, including to Saudi Arabia, is not allowed with our cars. If you have an accident, contact us immediately on WhatsApp 77772510 (24/7) and get the police report.
Upgrading your package
- You can upgrade your package until pickup time.
- A package cannot be downgraded after payment.
- If a booking is cancelled in line with the cancellation policy, any upgrade amount is refunded with it.
- Bookings made through third-party platforms follow that platform's protection terms.
